An extrusion head for producing flat profiles such as tread strips for automotive vehicles from three or more different rubber or plastics materials is disclosed. The head comprises a fixed central portion and upper and lower portions pivotally connected thereto, and is fed with the different mixtures by a plurality of screw or worm extrusion devices. Between the upper and central portion and the central and lower portions of the head, insert members are located. In the upper and/or lower surface of each insert member, flow channels for the mixtures are defined, the flow channels each being bounded upwardly or downwardly as appropriate, by a plane surface of one of the portions of the head. The insert members are axially divided and are made in one piece. The flow channels each have a longitudinal axis of symmetry and such axes lie in a common vertical plane. Such an arrangement permits the profile to be changed merely by replacing one or both insert members, permits the worms or screws to be readily removed for cleaning purposes and also ensures that the flow rates in each of the flow channels is substantially constant, thereby avoiding problems of pre-vulcanization.

Closest to the proposed technical essence and the achieved result is a head of a worm press for making flat profiles from different rubber-synthetic mixtures, comprising a body with channels for communicating with worm presses one above the other in the vertical direction and having three parts with working surfaces , the middle of which is with a support flange for rigid fastening with one of the screw presses, and the upper and lower parts are equipped with mechanisms for their folding, with kanalts formed working surfaces of the removable head portions and nozzles separated longitudinally 2A.
The disadvantages of the known worm head are the unequal length of the channels and their asymmetrical position relative to the axis of symmetry in the longitudinal direction. The different lengths of the channels predetermine the unequal flow rate and temperature of the rubber mixture in these channels. This leads to partial vulcanisation, and rubber, mixtures in longer canals of the head and reduced product quality.

This goal is achieved by the fact that the head of the screw has a press for the manufacture of flat profiles, from various rubber-synthetic mixtures, which includes a housing with channels for communication with screw-type presses arranged one above the other in the vertical direction and having three parts with working surfaces, which are made with a support flange for rigid fastening with one of the screw presses, and the upper and lower parts are provided with a mechanism 1I for tilting them, and the channels are formed by working surfaces of the heads grooves and detachable nozzles separated in the longitudinal direction, on at least one working surface of the removable nozzles, the grooves are filled, and the channels are limited in the longitudinal direction by the surfaces of the grooves and the working surfaces of the head parts, which are flat in the longitudinal direction The symmetry of the recess head is located one above the other in the same vertical plane.
Due to the fact that removable nozzles have recesses, the process of cleaning and adjusting the head during the transition from one profile to another or changing the composition of the mixture by pulling out the upper lower part of the head, removing and installing new ones without working surfaces of the head . Since the grooves in the removable nozzles overlap and are sealed in the longitudinal direction with flat surfaces and the bottom flaps. The head design is greatly simplified. The arrangement of the channels one above the other ensures the symmetry of the paths of movement of rubber mixtures even in the case of feeding them through three or more channels from different worm presses. At the same time, the channels have approximately the same length, which is of paramount importance for ensuring uniform temperature and flow rate of rubber compounds and thereby achieving uniformity of tread properties of automobile tires. The head (Fig. 1) of the screw press for the manufacture of flat profiles comprises a body 1 consisting of a swivel top 2 and a bottom 3 4a tee and a fixed middle part 4 of the head. The upper part 2 of the head 1 is opened by the mechanisms for opening B in the form of a hydraulic cylinder 5, and the lower part 3 by means of a hydraulic cylinder 6. The closed state is upper. The n 2 and lower 3 parts of the head 1 are fixed on the fixed middle part 4 by means of a hydraulic cylinder (not shown). At the bottom of the 3 heads. 1, channel 7 is removed. The device works as follows. When the head 1 is in the extended position, the removable nozzle 8 is mounted on the middle part 4, and the nozzle 9 is removed to the lower part 3 (figure 2). Using the hydraulic cylinders 5 and 6, the head portions are closed (Fig. 1). The rubber mixture is loaded into the scarlet presses 15, 17 and 19 and after the -plasticization, is pressed through the corresponding inlet openings 13, 16 and 18 into the head 1. At the exit of the head 1, a tire tread 27 is formed, consisting of three parts: a treadmill 28 , bases 2Sl and sidewall 30 (figure 4). The treadmill is formed of a rubber compound, squeezed out by a worm with a press 19 through a notch 12 in a removable nozzle 8. Two sidewalls 30 of the tread 27 are made of a rubber mixture, - activated by a worm press .17 through an opening 11 and side channels 24 in a removable nozzle 9. Basis 29 of the tread 27 is formed from a rubber compound. Extruded by a screw press 15 through channel 12 in the lower part 3 of the head 1 and then through the notch 10 in the removable nozzle .9. In the manufacture of the tread 27 can be used simultaneously three different compositions of rubber compounds. In the case of using the fourth worm press 22, the rubber mixture is squeezed out through the channel 20 in the upper part 2 of the head 1. At the manufacturing of the tread, various rubber mixtures loaded into the corresponding worm presses can be used simultaneously. In the case of head cleaning or when changing to another tread profile of the upper 2 and LOWER 3, the parts of the head 1 are retracted using hydraulic cylinders 5 and 6, the removable nozzles 8 and 9 are released by the hydraulic cylinder from fixation to the planes of the lower 3 and middle: 4 parts of the head 1 and 1 66. removed. Following this, worm presses are cleaned, new interchangeable nozzles 8 and 9 are replaced or installed without removing the casing of head 1 from worm presses 15, 17, 19 and 22. Using the invention improves product quality and process performance by ensuring equal speeds the flow of rubber compound or various compositions through the channels of the head and in the grooves of the removable nozzles. With this, even when using the screw presses, only two removable nozzles are needed, which makes cleaning and adjustment of the head much easier. In addition, the proposed head design allows for a quick change of nozzles, cleaning of the head and screw presses without dismantling the head, which reduces the time for simple equipment.
